Christina Bordeau, Midwife
My name is Chrissy Bordeau. I am a traditional community Midwife.

I am also the oldest of five children, three of which were born at home. As a young child this made such a huge impression on me that I would not realize until later in life. My earliest memories of the home births were one of normal, calm activity, except Mommy was upstairs having the baby, no big deal. Because birth was presented as just a normal function, I was never afraid or concerned by it. Breastfeeding was also a normal function of the mother. It was just simply what was done when you have a baby. This thus reflected onto me in my adult life.

I am a married mother of two children, both of which were caught by a midwife and both who were breastfed. I have worked in the medical field with mothers and babies for most of my adult life, taking a hiatus to raise my family.

Upon returning to the work force, once my children were in school, I became disillusioned with the lack of education and support for new mothers and their families. I began working as a postpartum doula, certified birth doula and a Lamaze certified childbirth educator. However, I began to feel after each hospital birth, that I needed to do more. I grew weary of the limit to how much I could provide and protect the mothers that I served. It was after one traumatic hospital birth that I decided enough was enough; I HAD to take the leap. The following week I was signed up with a wonderful midwifery school. A great sense of calm and relief came over me. I could finally be the change that I felt was needed.

In conjunction with my midwifery education I had the opportunity to be trained by a wonderfully talented and wise local midwife who I had grown to love. Her passion and skill molded me into the practitioner I have become.

As I continue to work with the families I serve I find that it is truly a blessing to be able to work with women who are of like mind to be able to empower and protect from unnecessary interventions and to provide a calm and holistic pregnancy and birth experience. To be able to provide simple, preventative measures that is not just for pregnancy and birth but is truly a lifelong skill. It is truly humbling, to be invited into a family’s most intimate and life changing experience. To be able to be one of the guardians to help both mother and baby is such an honor, a gift. I feel I found my passion! Working with babies and their mothers has been the most rewarding experience! What greater gift can you have than...to LOVE what you do!

Natalie Katarina Elizabeth Hyczko-Paashaus
Midwifery Assistant/Doula
Hello, my name is Natalie Hyczko and I am a midwifery assistant who provides birth support, postpartum care and natural remedies. I can offer a helping hand during and after your labor with both emotional and physical support. I’ve attended well over 200 births. I had a homebirth myself. I have experience supporting mothers in a home birth and hospital birth setting. My maternal great grandmother was a midwife and my paternal grandmother was a folk herbalist. They are my greatest inspirations. In addition to my wide range of experience as a doula, I also offer meal prep, showcasing our locally grown produce with a strong focus on vegetables and healthy alternatives. Using food grown on our farm and sourced from our network of local farmers, I can provide clients with a variety of options to support you and your growing family before and after your birth. A little about me: I live with my husband Daniel, our daughter Evangeline, two cats, a dog,a small herd of Shetland sheep, and a few very eccentric chickens and ducks on our small family farm, Pan’s Forest, located north of Quakertown, PA. I love being out in nature and bringing my cross stitch with me everywhere. I am a classically trained chef who has worked at a number of Lehigh Valley restaurants, as a personal chef, as a recipe developer for a plant based nutritionist and as everything in between. I have a strong love of and knowledge for cultural herbalism, women's health and folkways

Susan Bazarte
Birth & Postpartum Doula
Susan started her journey disappointed and powerless in her first two hospital births. She went in search of something better, and found a wonderful homebirth midwife that gave her back her power to birth the way her body said she needed. In love with the experience she went on to have two more homebirths that continued to reassure her power to know her own body.

After raising her family she wanted to enhance and empower other mothers to do the same. She decided that becoming a birth doula was where she could have an impact to assist mothers to believe in themselves and their bodies.

Mothers who have had the privilege of having Susan as their doula have complimented her on the soothing and calming atmosphere that she exudes and that has allowed them to be the same through their birth experience.
